About the Role
Our client in the Cherry Creek area is seeking a Temporary Staff Accountant to support core accounting functions during a period of increased workload. This role is fully on-site and ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys hands-on work, fast-paced environments, and contributing to a collaborative finance team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Prepare and maintain balance sheet schedules and reconcile supporting documentation.
- Support daily accounting operations such as AP/AR processing, bank reconciliations, and cash postings.
- Review transactions for accuracy and proper coding in accordance with company policies and GAAP.
- Assist with expense tracking, vendor statements, and resolving billing discrepancies.
- Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analyses as requested.
- Support the team during audits by gathering documentation and ensuring accuracy of financial data.
- Maintain organized, audit-ready files and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- 2-3+ years of accounting experience; prior Staff Accountant or full-cycle accounting experience strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Excel (lookups, pivot tables) and familiarity with common accounting systems (NetSuite, Sage, QuickBooks, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong sense of organization and accuracy.
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, on-site environment.
